THE EFFECT OF WATER ON THE GELATION OF AN UNSATURATED POLYESTER RESIN.

Abstract

Water retards the gelation and polymerisation of an unsaturated polyester resin but to a lesser extent than benzoquinone. On the basis of the data obtained and other information reported in the literature it appears advisable to keep the uptake of water from the environment during a fabrication process to a minimum.
