TWO DIMENSIONAL SPECTRAL ANALYSIS,
Abstract
The author presents a theoretical sketch of two dimensional stationary processes with some possible uses of their spectra. Then details are given of the statistical estimation of two dimensional spectra. Measurement errors are discussed and formulas used in computation are summarized. The major part of the work was sponsored by the Land Locomation Laboratory of the Army Tank-Automotive Center, Warren, Michigan and appears in (AD-438 405). The measured spectra were obtained for part of a study on the traversability of open ground by vehicles sponsored by the Land Locomotion Laboratory. Most of the practical problems discussed in the present work were met in the processing of this data. Results of this study will appear in a future report of the Laboratory.
