SOME NUMERICAL HYDRODYNAMICS FOR HILO HARBOR,

Abstract

The work was directed toward finding some understanding of the behavior of tsunamis at Hilo, Hawaii. Difference equations for a grid of 32 points corresponding to the variable depth, shallow water wave equation are solved for steady-state solutions. A number of time-varying solutions are found for a number of inputs at the harbor entrance. (Author)
