A PROPOSAL FOR A SECONDARY STANDARD ILLUMINATION METER.

Abstract

The design criteria for a filter combination that allows the conversion of a previously developed high precision caloric radiometer into a secondary illumination instrument are stated, and a technique for computing suitable filter combinations and their errors is discussed. It is shown that a combination of two Schott filters (GG 10 and KG3) yields a technologically feasible solution which deviates only about one percent from the response of the normal human eye for air masses 1 through 5.
