PROBABILITY MODELS FOR MULTIPROGRAMMING COMPUTER SYSTEMS.
Abstract
A probability model is developed for a computer system that is capable of multi programming, i.e., that maintains several program segments simultaneously in Main Memory (core), the latter being served by several input-output channels. Under various probabilistic assumptions, reflecting the mixture of jobs submitted to the system, the productivity of systems of various configurations is studied. (Author)
