TROPICAL SERVICE LIFE OF ELECTRONIC PARTS AND MATERIALS

Abstract

A report is made of an effort to evaluate the degree and extent of degradation of selected electronic components in tropical environments over an extended period of time. The components are the type commonly employed in the fabrication of equipment designed for tactical use by the armed services. The component complement consists of units with industry and service acceptance of over a dozen years as well as recent additions resulting from the pressure and trend toward microminiaturization.
