RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF A SIMULATED DOSIMETER (FOR USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH LARGE AREA RADIAC TRAINER, DEVICE 11F6).
Abstract
The simulated dosimeter must resemble and perform like the actual Dosimeter (IM-93/UD) except that its motivation must be radio waves rather than radioactivity. The approach taken was to modify the actual IM-93/UD dosimeter by bringing a conduction lead to the inner charged foil. The charge was bled off through the plate of an electrometer tube, the bleed off being controlled by grid bias. An electrometer tube had to be used since other types of tubes allowed too much spurious conduction. Observations are given on phenomenon in the picoampere range. (Author)
