ROLLING CONTACT FAILURE CONTROL THROUGH LUBRICATION.

Abstract

The paper is subdivided into the following sections: (1) Description of typical rolling contact failure modes, (2) Review of parameters influential in causing contact failure, (3) Observations on rolling contacts which relate failure mechanism to engineering parameters of the contact, and specifically to lubrication.
