THE SHORT RUN AND THE LONG WALK. (PARTS I AND II),

Abstract

Approaches to peace in Southeast Asia are examined and discussed. It is concluded that 'Military success is a necessary, but insufficient condition for a favorable outcome in Southeast Asia. However, expensive and inefficient, military success can only provide the background requirement for progress toward justice, economic improvement and government stability. But without military success, there is no hope for progress.' (Author)
