DIRECTIVITY OF AN ARRAY OF SLOTS ON THE SURFACE OF A CYLINDER.

Abstract

General expressions for the directivity of arrays of axial and circumferential slots on an infinite conducting cylinder are derived. Directivity patterns of uniformly excited arrays of several slot configurations are presented. The optimum spacing for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 slot arrays on an infinite cylinder between one and four wave-lengths in diameter is presented and the minimum number of slots required to produce a uniform pattern in the equatorial plane is determined.
