THE USE OF PROTEOLYTIC ENZYMES (FERMENTS) IN THE TREATMENT OF FRACTURES OF THE LOWER JAW WITH EXTRA-ORAL SUPPORTING BANDAGES,

Abstract

Use of intramuscular injections of chemotrypsin in the treatment of fractures of the lower jaw considerably betters the patient's general condition. The counter inflammatory effect of the proteolytic enzymes promotes quicker absorption of the hematoma, elimination of the inflammatory phenomena in the region of the fracture and decreases pain. The patient's stay at the hospital is considerably shortened, as well as his period of inactivity. (Author)
