SOVIET WATCH-TESTING DEVICES: ANALYTICAL SURVEY.

Abstract

This analytical survey is based on Soviet open sources published 1955-1963 and one Western source published in 1952. This report reviews Soviet research on watch-testing devices and it consists of the following parts: an introduction, with ten references (with the exclusion of one monograph these appear in the next part as the abstracts and translations), which briefly reviews Soviet and Western watch-testing devices; a set of abstracts (7 total) and translations (2 total) describing the most commonly used devices; and an appendix containing illustrations of some Soviet laboratory setups (including four references). Devices discussed include timing machines, devices which indicate other watch characteristics, rapid testing devices without recorders, and laboratory testing devices. (Author)
