HYDROGEN GENERATOR, VOLUME I.

Abstract

A report is made on the development of a generator to produce 140 SCFH of ultra-high purity hydrogen by the theromocatalytic dissociation of ammonia and subsequent diffusion of the produce for delivery at 3 psig. A discussion of the subsystems and components is presented. The system, as delivered, weighs 130 pounds, occupies 3.5 cubic feet, delivers from zero to 140 SCFH of hydrogen with a change-in-rate response time of less than 30 seconds, and operates at rated output with 72 percent thermal efficiency.
