Abstract
A study was made to carry out the production engineering necessary for the manufacture of quartz crystals for filter applications operating on the fifth overtone in the frequency range of 70 to 100 MC/s in accordance with Signal Corps Specification SCS-243 dated 21 April 1965. Design data and fabrication techique for AT-cut quartz crystals, 70 MC/s fifth overtone for filter application is presented. An evaluation of crystal units with various plate backs vs. mode suppression is given.
