NEL MOBILE SONAR CALIBRATION BARGE.

Abstract

A general purpose calibration barge has been established on Pend Oreille Lake, Idaho. It is equipped with the latest electronic equipment, and is capable of evaluating large (up to 100 tons) planar, cylindrical, or spherical array transducers. The barge can be tied to a float and use shore power. Alternatively, because of its self-sufficiency, the barge can be anchored anywhere in the lake and remain there for tests of extended duration.
