A THEOREM ON FORMAL STABILITY IN THE SATELLITE ORBIT PROBLEM,

Abstract

For the case of commensurable periods the possibility of doubly periodic expansions (with secular arguments) is an open question in classical celestial mechanics. It is proved that such expansions are possible for (drag-free) satellite motion around an oblate curve. (Author)
