THE APPLICATION OF ULTRASONIC ENERGY TO METAL WIRE DRAWING.

Abstract

A variety of materials and equipment variables were studied during wire drawing under ultrasonic energy radiation. In spite of difficulties concerned with maintaining constant ultrasonic energy environment, reproducible results could be achieved with extreme care. Effects of die temperature, horn diameter, and wire sizes are also reported. (Author)
