Abstract

An informal report to summarize an initial study of quality control in computer programming, this document includes (1) a survey of common problems in developing quality control efforts, (2) a conceptual view of quality, (3) a pragmatic view of quality control that stresses relative improvement of quality, (4) some ideas on what attributes of programs are important, and (5) some thoughts on how to organize and promote a quality control effort.
