CHROMATOGRAPHY AND SOLVENT EXTRACTION OF ORGANOMETALLIC COMPLEXES.

Abstract

As a result of the fact that 8-hydroxyquiraldine differs in its analytical behaviour towards aluminium and associated elements and in an attempt to increase the selectivity of the reagent a number of 8-hydroxyquinoline derivatives substituted in the 2-position with bulky alkyl groups were prepared. However the compounds produced will be rather costly and the method laborious. Synthesis according to the aldol reaction is believed less difficult and far less costly. The chromatographic behaviour of metal 8-quinolinol derivative complexes was investigated. In order to facilitate the choice of conditions and reagents for chromatographic separation the adsorption equilibria were studied.
