HIGH VACUUM ULTRAVIOLET EFFECTS.

Abstract

Optimum electrical conditions - as far as continuum intensity is concerned - were figured out for a proper operating of three electrodes vacuum spark. The experiments which were carried out were mainly spectroscopic measurements with a normal incidence vacuum spectrograph. Continuum intensity was measured, in relative units by a photographic method at selected wavelengths in the range 1500-500A. Through a study of the influence of the main electrical parameters in the discharge circuit (high voltage, capacitance and inductance), SOME IDEAS WERE DEVELOPED CONCERNING THE BEST LIGHT EFFICIENCY OF THE SOURCE IN VACUUM U.V.
