FAR FIELD SOUND RADIATION FROM RANDOMLY VIBRATING STRUCTURES.

Abstract

The report presents general relationships for the cross spectral density of the sound pressure radiated from a randomly vibrating structure oscillating in an acoustic medium. Simplified relationships for the mean square far field pressure are given for the case of low damping. A free field Green's Function is introduced to study the directivity of the radiation from cylindrical structures. (Author)
