TRANSDUCER AND INTERPHONE SYSTEM FOR OPERATION IN HIGH-AMBIENT NOISE.

Abstract

Efforts are described toward development of an improved transducer and interphone system for operation in high ambient noise. Performance of the present, operational system is evaluated. Results are given for noise surveys performed on typical armored vehicles, with determinations of sound pressure level and spectrum of this noise. Following this research, an effective voice communication system for use in high ambient noise fields was developed, as described in this report, whose performance and theory of operation are detailed, with recommendations for further development work.
