RESONANCES OF THE THIN-SHELL MODEL OF THE EARTH-IONOSPHERE CAVITY.

Abstract

A model of the earth-ionosphere cavity at ELF in which the ionosphere is replaced by a thin, anisotropic shell is analyzed. An approach for including the effect of a static, dipolar magnetic field is outlined, and numerical results are presented which display the effect of a static, radial magnetic field. The numerical techniques involved in the solution of the model equation are outlined briefly. (Author)
