MUZZLE VELOCITY MEASUREMENT,

Abstract

Methods currently used to measure muzzle velocity of tube-launched meteorological probes are described in detail. The methods are categorized as the 'make-switch' and the 'break-switch' systems. Accuracy considerations applicable to both systems are discussed. Application of the measurement system to Loki, Arcas, and gun probe vehicles is discussed. (Author)
