ON A DEFINITION OF BANDWIDTH.

Abstract

Various definitions of bandwidth are examined for non-bandlimited random processes. Properties and shortcomings of these definitions are discussed. The 'bandwidths' of several random processes are calculated and in most instances, the different definitions yield different answers. The bandwidth of an amplitude and/or angle modulated wave is calculated using one definition and the results compared to those found by Abramson who used a different definition. (Author)
