A RAPID MICROANALYSIS OF NITROGEN IN ORGANIC COMPOUNDS SLEEVE-TUBE COMBUSTION METHOD,

Abstract

The paper describes a technique of using a sleeve-tube combustion in determining nitrogen in organic compounds. The oxidizing agent employed is manganese dioxide. Satisfactory results were obtained on all types of nitrogen-containing organic compounds. The temperature of the fixation furnance was also lower (600-650C) than most rapid methods. This will extend the lifetime of the combustion tube. The method is also very economical, simple and fast. (Author)
