HEAT OPTIMUM ACCELERATION IN CENTRAL FIELD,

Abstract

Consideration is given to a variational problem about optimum acceleration of spacecraft with low thrust, starting from an orbit close to circular and attaining hyperbolic velocity. Regularities of optimum motion were investigated. A comparison was made with motion under action of constant tangential acceleration. Considerations are given pertaining to construction of a limiting solution of variational problem, calculation of which would allow one to reduce estimation of basic parameters of optimum acceleration to the use of a table with one entry or to calculation by means of the final formulas.
