ADAPTIVE DECOMPOSITION OF SUPERPOSITIONS OF PROBABILITY DENSITY FUNCTIONS.

Abstract

A method of approximating an ultradistribution is given in conjunction with the adaptive solution technique. An algorithm is developed for solving the multidimensional problem by first solving p + 1 one dimensional problems where p is the dimension of the sample vectors. Finally, a computer simulation of the adaptive technique was conducted on a sample problem where the elements of the mixture were selected as gaussian. The results of this experiment are reported.
