PLAN FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ALL WEATHER LANDING SYSTEM RELIABILITY ANALYSIS AND CRITERIA, PHASE I,
Abstract
The report outlines the basic plan and approach which will be used for generation of an AWLS assessment criteria and evaluation methodology. The criteria and methodology to be formulated will be for application on the Category III AWLS ground-based system, which will be Phase II of the study program, and for the airborne portions of the system, which will be treated in Phase III of the program. Of particular significance is the consideration of safety, reliability, and total performance evaluation. The Phase I Report presents a complete bibliography on AWLS technology. In addition, treatment is presented on the applications of reliability, human factors, safety, quantification, and total performance for the evaluation of All Weather Landing Systems. (Author)
