A NOTE ON APPROXIMATE METHODS PERTINENT TO THERMO-VISCOELASTIC STRESS ANALYSIS,

Abstract

It is believed that the approximate methods which were presented show considerable potential for solving many complex problems arising in thermoviscoelastic stress analysis. While the mathematical assumptions which are introduced in developing the methods appear to be quite restrictive, the numerical example suggests that, for engineering purposes, the assumptions can be relaxed to some extent.
