SURFACE CURRENTS INDUCED ON WEDGES UNDER PLANE WAVE ILLUMINATION.

Abstract

Magnitudes and phases of the surface currents induced on perfectly conducting infinite wedges are presented as a function of the distance from the wedge apex. Results are presented for wedges with interior angles of 60, 90 and 120 degrees for various angles of incidence. Results are given for the polarization of the incident plane both in and normal to the plane of incidence. It is seen that, for the illuminated faces of the wedge, the physical optics result is approached within two wavelengths from the wedge apex and, in many cases, within about one wavelength. (Author)
