TEMPERATURES IN A LARGE NATURAL-FUEL FIRE.

Abstract

Temperatures in a large natural-fuel fire were measured with bare, shielded aspirated, and shielded unaspirated chromel-alumel thermocouples. With the bare thermocouples, values of 2650F. were recorded--much higher than most previously published data from field and laboratory wood fires. Soil temperatures were consistent with prior work.
