PERSONNEL LOWERING DEVICE.

Abstract

An evaluation of the U. S. Army developed Lowering Device, Personnel/Cargo, Utility, 500-Pound Capacity was conducted to determine whether the test item was suitable for Marine Corps use. It was concluded that the test item would be excessively costly on a long term basis, would bring with it an undesirable administrative requirement and would add a logistical burden that is out of proportion to the overall utility of the device. It was recommended that the test item not be adopted for use by the Marine Corps. (Author)
