SUMMARY OF 20-100 MHZ PROPAGATION MEASUREMENT RESULTS OVER IRREGULAR TERRAIN USING LOW ANTENNA HEIGHTS.

Abstract

Results of a comprehensive transmission loss measurement program over irregular terrain on 20, 50, and 100 MHz are presented in the form of transmission loss distributions and by examining the behavior of median and range values derived from the distributions as functions of various combinations of link parameters. Additionally, measured transmission loss medians for specific distances were compared with calculated values (based on smooth-earth diffraction) and with the results of similar measurements performed in a tropical jungle environment.
