DISLOCATION BARRIER INTERACTIONS IN CUBIC CRYSTALS. VOLUME II. EXTENDED DISLOCATION BARRIERS ON (112) PLANES IN ANISOTROPIC BODY-CENTERED CUBIC CRYSTALS (STUDY OF THE THEORY OF PHENOMENA).

Abstract

Two glissile extended dislocations on intersecting (112) planes in a body-centered cubic crystal can interact to form various stair-rod configurations. The stability of these configurations has been determined on the basis of anisotropic elasticity theory for each of ten bcc elements. The widths of the possible extended barriers in each element, as well as the widths of the glissile extended dislocations which are reacting to form the barriers, have been computed in terms of the stacking fault energy of the element.
