MATERIALS SCIENCES PROGRAM.
Abstract
This technical report describes research in the Materials Sciences carried on by the faculty and students at the College Park campus of the University of Maryland during the period from July 1, 1965 through June 30, 1966. Descriptions of the research accomplished during the year is compiled under eight subheadings: High pressure phenomena; intermolecular interactions, spectra and structure; electronic and magnetic properties of materials; electronic structure and fundamental interactions in solids; interaction of matter with electromagnetic radiation; thermodynamics and kinetics of reactions in materials; mechanical properties; and characterization of materials.
