CAPTURE COEFFICIENT OF 300K CO2 ON A 77K SURFACE AS MEASURED BY THE ROTATING GAGE TECHNIQUE

Abstract

The capture coefficient of 300K CO2 on a 77K surface is measured using a rotating gage measuring technique. It is concluded that the measured value is 0.99 plus or minus 0.01. However, the experimental data also indicate that the radiation load on the cryosurface may significantly affect the capture coefficient.
