THEORETICAL DETERMINATION OF THE MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY OF LIGHT ATOMS.

Abstract

A refined method of calculation that includes both the multiconfiguration approximation and the method of partial separation of variables in the approximation of the two-electron-state model is applied to the theoretical determination of magnetic susceptibility. The authors present and discuss a number of numerical results for atoms (ions) of helium type, beginning with H(-) and ending with C(4+), and of beryllium type, beginning with Li(-) and ending with C(2+).
