THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS.

Abstract

The paper provides an orientation to the procedures used in systems analysis and in the design of information systems. An information system is an organized procedure for collecting, processing, storing, and retrieving documentary information. Its structure is illustrated by means of a block diagram. The principles used in the analysis and design are derived from information science which provides a conceptual basis for understanding the functioning of information handling systems. (Author)
