A GUIDE FOR TURBULENT ATMOSPHERE PROPAGATION EXPERIMENTS,

Abstract

The theoretical work of major impact in the field of electromagnetic propagation through a turbulent medium has been done by V. I. Tatarski and his followers. Experimental research is needed to clarify the role of some of the quantities and concepts contained therein. This report gives the criteria required of experimental work in order that it be relevant to the theory of Tatarski, and that the experiments both complement the theory and find a logical basis in it.
