PARAMETRIC COUPLING BETWEEN TRANSVERSE ELECTROMAGNETIC AND LONGITUDINAL ELECTRON WAVES,

Abstract

Parametric coupling between transverse electromagnetic and electron waves in a plasma was studied by means of coupled mode theory. The coupling coefficients was determined. Two examples of parametric coupling were considered. One is the same as treated by Montgomery, and the other results in parametric amplification. The growth rate was calculated. (Author)
