IONIZATION AND DISSOCIATION OF SOME AROMATIC IMIDES UNDER ELECTRON-IMPACT.

Abstract

The mass spectra of phthalanil, N-phenyl-1:8-naphthalimide, 4-phthalimidobiphenyl, and 2-phthalimidobiphenyl are recorded and discussed. These compounds give abundant molecular-ions, and, with the exception of the last compound, give rise to intense M-CO2 peaks. The ionization potentials of these compounds are reported. (Author)
