MID-LATITUDE FRONTAL CLOUD MODELS.

Abstract

This study presents typical cloud patterns associated with mid-latitude weather systems. These models can be used as a guide when preparing prognostic HWD charts or making flight forecasts. The study also illustrates how forecasters can extract valuable information from APT satellite pictures, etc. Part I gives a series of cloud patterns associated with fronts and vortices. Part II is a case study of cloud patterns associated with a Shanghai Low.
