THERMALLY INDUCED BOUNDARY-LAYER FLOWS IN A ROTATING ENVIRONMENT,

Abstract

Boundary-layer flows induced by heating fluid which is initially in an isothermal rigid-body rotation are studied. Cases considered are (i) fluid bounded on one side by a rotating plane whose temperature is impulsively changed or is varied sinusoidally (ii) fluid bounded by two rotating planes whose temperatures are impulsively changed by the same amount.
