POSITION INFERENCE AND CONFIDENCE REGION DETERMINATION CORRESPONDING TO THREE OR FOUR SENSORS AS REFERENCE OBJECTS.
Abstract
The problem of detection of an object which emits acoustical impulses by a system of sensors is considered. The factors assumed to be known are the sensor positions, the variances associated with the sensor positions and equipment accuracy. The limitations of the accuracy of the known parameters are utilized to estimate the probability of occurrence of target in a volume or area configuration. The confidence regions are determined. A program for the four-sensor case is presented. (Author)
