THE VELOCITY OF SMALL PERTURBATIONS AND THE EXISTENCE OF WEAK SHOCK WAVES IN A RADIATING GAS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT RADIATION PRESSURE,

Abstract

On the basis of hydrodynamic equations of Navier-Stokes, taking into account the mechanical action of equilibrium radiation, consideration is given to propagation of plane harmonic weak perturbations (pressure waves and thermal waves) in equilibrium medium at rest, thermal and calorific state of which are given in very general form. There is obtained a formula for adiabatic speed of sound, taking into account radiation pressure, and the characteristic (frequency) equation of the Kirchhoff-Langevin type. (Author)
