ON THE COMPUTATION OF FLOW AT LARGE KNUDSEN NUMBERS,

Abstract

A method is presented for the numerical solution of the Boltzmann Equation which seems to have some advantages over the usual method of moments. The formative influences on molecular flow are discussed and examples of the calculation are given for flows close to free-molecular flow with the Monte-Carlo-method. The results of the calculation confirm the existence of the molecular boundary layer. (Author)
