THE EFFECT OF POST GEOMETRY OF SOLDERLESS WRAPPED TERMINATION PERFORMANCE.

Abstract

Although there are other factors which will influence choice of wrapost geometry, such as contact spacing and wrapping tool accessibility, the ultimate criterion must be optimum performance. On this basis, there is strong evidence to indicate that, of the two most common configurations, .045 square and .031 x .062, rectangular posts are far superior for any application where mechanical distrubance of the wrapped termination is a realistic consideration.
