ON THE USE OF THE RING TEST FOR DETERMINING RATE SENSITIVE MATERIAL CONSTANTS,

Abstract

An explosive ring test is reappraised in light of recently developed material behavior models and analytical predictive techniques. It is demonstrated in complete detail how this test may be utilized to determine the uniaxial flow laws of rate sensitive perfectly plastic and strain hardening materials. (Author)
