ELECTRONIC AND NUCLEAR PARAMAGNETISM AND ENERGY EXCHANGE MECHANISMS.
Abstract
Large F19 NMR enhancements in CaF2 crystals containing atomic hydrogen have been obtained from the various types of forbidden transition lines in the atomic hydrogen ESR spectrum. Investigations of the Solid State Effect in polycrystalline solids, in which ESR centers possess a substantially anisotropic g- and hyperfine tensors, have been conducted and predictions have been made pertaining to the NMR enhancements from such materials. In addition, double magnetic resonance experiments in polycrystalline NaCl containing Cl(2-) centers have been completed and studies to understand the behavior of the Al27 NMR enhancement in ruby crystals have been performed. Also, a new ESR spectrum in CaF2, when treated at high temperatures and in a hydrogen atmosphere, is reported. (Author)
